Rooted in Trust!
Rooted in Trust, an inspirational devotional from Still, I Will! Ministries:
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him.” — Jeremiah 17:7
Life has a way of shaking the things we once thought were secure. Plans change. People disappoint us. Storms rise unexpectedly. In moments like these, fear can easily take root in our hearts if our confidence is built on temporary things.
But Jeremiah 17:7 gives us a beautiful promise: Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.
Notice the verse does not say blessed is the one who has all the answers, unlimited resources, or a life free from trouble. The blessing comes from placing our confidence fully in God. Trusting Him means believing that even when we cannot see the way ahead, He already knows the path. It means resting in His character when circumstances seem uncertain.
The verses that follow compare a person who trusts God to a tree planted by water—steady, nourished, and unshaken by heat or drought. That is the picture of a life anchored in Christ. The storms may still come, but the roots go deep enough to withstand them.
When our confidence is in the Lord:
* Fear loses its grip.* Hope begins to rise.* Peace steadies our hearts.* Faith grows stronger through every season.
Maybe today you are facing uncertainty, disappointment, or waiting for answers that have not yet come. Take heart. God has not abandoned you. He is faithful to sustain those who lean on Him. Your strength does not come from holding everything together—it comes from being held by the One who never fails.
Keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep standing firm in faith.
The God who planted you will also sustain you.
Prayer
Lord, teach me to place my full confidence in You. When fear and uncertainty try to overwhelm me, remind me that You are faithful and trustworthy. Help me stay rooted in Your promises so that my life reflects peace, strength, and hope no matter what season I face. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection Question
What area of your life is God asking you to trust Him with more deeply today?
