Perfect Peace

an inspirational email blog by Still, I Will! Ministries

Dear Friends,

During the Christmas season we often hear people pray and sing songs that yearn for peace on earth and good will toward men. In the world we live in today, I know that it is hard to believe that true peace can really be found. We question,  does it even exist?

But there is hope! There is a kind of peace this world cannot manufacture. It isn’t found in a quiet room, a perfect day, or the absence of problems. The peace Isaiah speaks of—perfect peace—is a supernatural calm that roots itself deep within our souls. It does not rise and fall with our circumstances. It doesn’t depend on whether life makes sense or people behave or prayers are answered exactly as we’d hoped.

Perfect peace comes from a steadfast mind—a mind fixed on the unchanging character of God.

We live in a culture that pulls our attention in a hundred directions. Worry whispers, fear shouts, and anxiety tries to take the lead. But the promise of Isaiah 26:3 reminds us:

Peace is not found in trying harder—it is found in trusting deeper.

When our minds drift toward the “what ifs,” God invites us to anchor our thoughts in the “even ifs.”

Even if I don’t see the whole picture—God is still faithful.

Even if this season feels heavy—God is still near.

Even if I don’t understand—God is still in control.

A steadfast mind is not a perfect mind. It is a mind that, again and again, chooses to return to God. Every time anxiety rises, we redirect our thoughts to His goodness, His sovereignty, His unfailing love. And every time we do, peace rushes in like a river—steady, deep, and unwavering.

Friend, God promises to keep you in that peace. You don’t have to chase it. You don’t have to earn it.

Just trust Him. Fix your mind on Him. Lean into His presence today.

And where your thoughts rest, your heart will follow.

A Prayer for Today

Father, thank You for the gift of perfect peace. When my mind feels scattered and my heart grows weary, steady me. Fix my thoughts on Your truth and draw me into a deeper trust. Keep me in Your peace today—one that the world cannot give and cannot take away. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflection Question

Where is your mind resting today—on the storm or on the Savior?

What is one truth about God you can fix your thoughts on this week?

With Unshakable Hope!

Scott
